Valley View Canine has been in the business of dog training for over 30 years; all breeds, all ages. We have had great success with problem dogs, timid dogs, aggressive dogs, and everything in between. Valley View Canine welcomes puppies, yearlings, older dogs with some or no training, shelter dogs, rescue dogs, and dogs straight from a breeder.
Our dog training program is based on trust and praise. Praise is a dog's fondest reward and pleasing you, their owner, is their fondest wish. We would like to help you and your canine companion communicate effectively with each other and reach all of your training goals. We firmly believe in building a strong relationship between you and your dog. Most of all, we want you and your dog to have fun with your obedience training and meet any extra-curricular goals you may have with your companion or just being an all around family pet with good manners.
Valleyview Canine endorses Roselynn Ranch Pet Accommodations, a local non-profit organization, supporting individuals and families in crisis with their pets/animals/livestock.

10 to 12 weeks old depending on where they are at in their vaccine series.
'you can't teach an old dog new tricks' is strictly a myth. You can do training and behavior modification at any age. Dogs can continue to learn new things throughout their life.
DHLPP, Bordetella, Rabies (6 months and older) or a current titer test will suffice.
Your options would be to do Obedience I to make sure your dog is up to speed or a private lesson/evaluation to assess where your dog is in their training. Each trainer teaches different skills at different levels and may use different commands for some exercises.
We love caring for pets! Schedule right here on our site for a meet and greet, or to make any pet services appointment. If you have a special request, send us a message, and we'll get back to you as soon as possible.

I joined the Valley View Canine family in 2007 with my mini Aussie. She was the smallest and most timid in the entire class. But through puppy play, social play hours and the basic obedience classes (obedience 1,2 and 3) I was able to take This scared little pup and make her the best companion one could ask for. Fast forward to 2022, I had gotten 2 more dogs, had 2 children and moved out of state. I had not successfully found a trainer who could help our dogs join our growing family. I had tried many different training techniques and all were unsuccessful at helping the dogs fit our lives. VVC offered virtual class which, not going to lie, I was skeptical. But I said “why not. Let’s give it a try”. And wow!! My 1 year old Coltriever has passed obedience 1 and 2 all while being at home. I am very thankful and grateful that Valley View Canine offers the virtual option.
We have been taking classes and using Doggy Daycare since January of 2007. We are now on our third dog that has participated in both classes and daycare, he has even done personal training classes with Lynette. The care and services that Valley View and their staff have provided for 15 plus years has been excellent, hence the reason we still continue to give them our business and recommend them to friends and family. I will continue to recommend them and sing their praises. We also are really enjoying the Zoom classes, which not going to lie, we were a little apprehensive, but it has been a really great experience! Thank you Lynette!
My family has been using Valley View Canine for about 25 years and I remember when they got their first store front location. Over the years we have tried other trainers but always come back to Valley View because our dogs always seem to be better trained when done. Lynette takes the time to show you how to correct behaviors whether they are aggression, stubbornness, or even explaining how you are doing things that are causing the situation. Recently Valley View Canine extended their training to virtual training with a mix of in person training when possible. We were skeptical at first, but love the ability to train from our own home. The virtual training gives us a chance to correct behaviors where they happen. Currently we are on our 4th and 5th dogs being trained at Valley View and I don’t think I would ever choose another trainer to take them too. Lynette also tries to go above and beyond to ensure that your needs are met in having a well behaved dog.
In 2022 when we were looking to place our new Lab puppy in training classes Valley View was the only one that we would consider. Having worked with Lynette over the years and knowing how she trains the dogs based on praise and not treat training, we knew we would return once again. Bronco is a goofy Lab and has had to repeat some of the classes but we know the efforts are worth it. Soon he too will be walking off leash and enjoying life to its fullest.
Our next Lab, Casey started classes with Valley View when she was just a puppy in July 2007. I never imagined taking my dog to "Puppy Class" but it was well worth it. She was well socialized with other dogs and enjoyed every class that she attended. Even though she had to repeat several classes, she finally "got it" and became one of the most well behaved and socialized dogs that we have ever owned.
This is an awesome place to train with your dog. Lynette is fully vested in the training and in her business and the results will make you and your dog truly happy.
Valley View Canine has helped us train 6 dogs over the past 30 years. All were large mixed breeds, rescues, each with different issues. One was even severely abused, yet ended up so sweet & was able to be a blood donor. Lynette & the other trainer's obedience classes have helped to build these trusting & fun relationships between us & our dogs.
They will evaluate your dog, keeping in mind what the breed was bred for, & will help you develop the best training regimen specifically for that dog. Lynette also has so much experience with bad behaviors (across the
spectrum of timid to aggressive & stubborn!) that she knows how to break those behaviors without breaking you or your dog! We've seen her work with all types, while also making sure every other dog in class is safe.
So, of course, by now, we know how to train a dog & could do so at home. However, we would miss the socialization piece & Lynette's insights which are so valuable for any training. Dogs have to learn how to behave among strangers & strange dogs. At the same time, Lynette is also working with owners to learn how to behave around strangers & strange dogs! :) She
provides so many layers of support for your struggles.
Our current pup (half boxer, half Tasmanian Devil !!!) was around 6 months old when we rescued her & all our previous disciplinary methods failed. Lynette's advice was, & still is, invaluable, as we retire some bad habits, only to have new ones pop up! Bottom line... I don't need my dogs to stand still for show, though Lynette can train for that too. I need them to behave walking in my neighborhood, camping & hiking, being gentle around children, etc. We'll keep going to classes as long as it takes & we'll no doubt end up with another smart, happy, trustworthy companion. Valley View Canine will provide the support you need to do this for your dogs & you too!
I first came to Valley View eight years ago with my Rhodesian Ridgeback puppy, Hanna. While I had owned dogs all my life I had never gone to school with any of them until Hanna. I chose Valley View because they do not use treats to train. They taught me how to communicate with my Hanna and more importantly, how to understand and guide her in a gentle and loving way. Lynette is beyond knowledgeable about all breeds and Hanna took to school like a champ. Hanna is the most well-behaved dog I have ever had thanks to Valley View. Going through school, from Puppy Preschool through Obedience 4, also bonded Hanna and I in a way I had never experienced with any previous pet. Hanna is still the queen of my life but she and I welcomed Daisy (another RR) last year. Daisy is nothing like Hanna as far as temperament but Lynette understood how to help both Daisy and I form a bond through shared learning. Daisy is well on her way to being another soul mate pet for me and I owe it all to Valley View Canine. I tell every person that has a dog or is getting a puppy to sign up at Valley View first thing. I get so many compliments on how companionable my dogs are so I tell them “if you want more than a dog then sign up at Valley View Canine. They don’t just train dogs. They forge long lasting bonds between pet and owner. I am forever grateful to them.”
I have trained both my boxers, Rusty and Audrey, with Valley View Canine. I can't say enough about the level of expertise and guidance Lynette has provided to me over the years. I consistently get positive comments on how well behaved they are. This wouldn't have been the case with out the proper training from Lynette. When I moved to Idaho in 2021 I was concerned about finding an excellent trainer in the area. I was super excited when I learned she offered virtual classes via zoom. She helped us get through the transition of the move with the dogs.
